Johnstown man sentenced to prison for robbing Windber Subway

WINDBER - A man charged with robbing a Windber Subway in August has been sent to prison.

According to a Somerset County official, Todd Hollingsworth, 28, of Johnstown was sentenced to 30 to 60 months in prison for the Aug. 27, 2016 robbery.

He has been credited for serving 158 days. Officers responded to the Windber Subway on 21st Street for a silent alarm for a holdup.

When officers arrived, the employee told them a man tried to rob the store with a large knife. The employee and three other witnesses gave descriptions of the suspect to officers who located a man matching the description a short time later on 21st Street. Officers placed the man in custody, who was later identified as Hollingsworth.

He then admitted to officers that he tried to rob Subway for drug money and that he threw the knife in a creek behind the store.

Officers later recovered the knife. Hollingsworth was charged with robbery, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, aggravated assault with a weapon and simple assault with a weapon.
